If you have ever walked around downtown L.A. and wondered "Where are the jobs?" - you are certainly not alone. With the unemployment rate hovering around 13% (November 2010, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) things are not looking Hollywood worthy - at least not yet.
I don't want to generalize, but southern California typically has a pretty high unemployment rate to begin with. Everyday, thousands of people are moving to (and moving away from) our fair city. They are usually chasing the dream - fame, fortune, and celebrity and then give up and go back. This type of unemployment we are seeing is different though - it is our own citizens who are giving up and moving away due to lack of employment and opportunity.
